PS3 and PSP blinds soon to be cut -

Sony is preparing to close the video game stores for PlayStation 3, PS Vita and PSP, after several years of loyal service.

If the information has not yet been formalized by the main interested party, the site The Gamer ensures to keep this information from sources close to the case.

With the recent release of the PS5 which, despite a significant shortage, is breaking sales records around the world, it's no wonder Sony is looking to pull the plug on somewhat outdated platforms.

The Japanese company has already started to do its spring cleaning since it recently ended the sale and rental of films and series via the PlayStation Store.

She then announced the disappearance of communities on PS4.

More than a decade of good and loyal service

The PS3 and PS Vita stores will close their doors on July 2.

As for the PS Vita, players will have until August 27, 2021 to make their final purchases.

After that date, gamers will simply no longer be able to purchase digital games or download new downloadable content.

However, they will still be able to play games on their console.

Sony is expected to confirm the news in the coming days.

In the meantime, it is better to take it with a grain of salt, but the information seems very probable.

As a reminder, the PS3 was launched in 2006 and has sold 87 million copies.

The PSP, released in 2005, had similar success with 81 million sales, unlike the PS Vita which has only sold 12 million copies since its launch in 2011.
