The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) vaccination committee recommended continuing vaccination, saying that the AstraZeneca Corona 19 vaccine was not associated with blood clots.

The Vaccination Committee said in a briefing on the afternoon of the 22nd, it has confirmed that there is no link between the AstraZeneca vaccine and the formation of blood clots.

However, for reports of the occurrence of disseminated intravascular coagulation disorder (DIC) and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST), which occur very rarely, such as about 1 per million people, he explained that a detailed investigation into the vaccine and causality was necessary.

The conclusion of the Vaccination Expertise Committee is the same as that of the World Health Organization and the European Medicines Agency.

The committee recommended that the KCDC and the Food and Drug Administration be monitored for similar cases through expert advisory groups and continued scientific analysis of their association with vaccines.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Vaccination Specialist Committee consists of 15 experts in health and infectious diseases.
