group of children attending a municipal day care center in Siheung, Gyeonggi-do showed symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

As a result of the investigation, norovirus was detected in some. As norovirus is also prevalent in spring, it seems that more attention is needed in places where students' group life began in the new semester.

is a municipal daycare center located in Siheung, Gyeonggi-do.

On the 18th, three or four children here began to show vomiting symptoms, and the number of children complaining about the same symptoms gradually increased.

[Parents of the daycare center: Immediately after the House of Representatives, the baby just vomited after about 3 hours, continue.

After a day, it turns into diarrhea...

.]

There have also been cases where it appears that even secondary infections have occurred in the family.

As a result of an investigation by the health authorities who received the report of the infectious disease, norovirus was found in some temporary specimens collected from patients with symptoms.

Accordingly, a detailed analysis of the preserved foods stored for inspection in the event of food poisoning along with food materials and cooking utensils has been undertaken.

It seems that it will take several days for the exact cause to be identified.

[Siheung City Hall official: We have done the epidemiological investigation now.

Sample collection has been completed.

(The cause) I can't say anything right now.]

Norovirus, the'main culprit' of food poisoning in winter, is prevalent and highly contagious from November to April.

As group meals began in March in the new semester, it seems necessary to thoroughly manage hygiene in day care centers, kindergartens, and schools.
