Launched in 2011, the online reading platform Youboox saw its number of subscribers exploded in 2020. The two confinements and the curfew introduced in France have certainly played in favor of the service since 33% of French people say they have read more pounds than normal.

Today, Youboox has more than 2.5 million subscribers.

For comparison, the platform had 300,000 readers in May 2019.

The concept of the platform is very similar to video and music streaming services.

Like Netflix or Spotify, Youboox offers unlimited access to a library of content for a monthly subscription, except that here it is books and comics and not movies, series or music.

The streaming reading service has a library of 400,000 books of all kinds and for all ages.

Three formulas according to your needs

Still like Netflix, Youboox offers different subscriptions depending on the interests and means of each.

The Premium plan is 11.99 euros / month and allows you to enjoy all books, comics, press titles (

Liberation, L'Equipe, Le Figaro, Les Echos

, etc.), magazines and 2,000 audio books.

The Youboox One subscription costs 9.99 euros per month and gives access to books, comics and a selection of audiobooks.

Finally, the last formula, Youboox classic, is the most accessible with a subscription of 7.99 euros per month and gives access to books and comics.

There is also a free plan which gives access to a selection of books.

The service is available on smartphones via an app (iOS / Android), but also online via the Youboox website.

Finally, it is possible to enjoy your favorite books and press titles in offline mode.
