<Anchor> As the

entire metropolitan area, including Seoul, was trapped in dense fine dust, emergency measures to reduce fine dust were issued for the first time this spring.

When the air quality deteriorates in this way, people look for indoor facilities rather than outdoors, but reporter Jang Se-man checked how the indoor air is in multi-use facilities that many people visit.

Cityscape of Seoul from Namsan Mountain.

The forest of the building in the distance is obscured by thick dust, and only the outline is blurred.

The view across the river from the Han River was also covered with hazy dust.

[Lee Myung-hee: My neck is sharp.

Especially on days like today.]

[Kim So-yoon: It’s frustrating and it’s a bit more difficult to breathe than usual.]

Today (11th), the daily average concentration of ultrafine dust recorded'very bad' in Seoul 97, Gyeonggi 92, etc. I did.

The more fine dust is, the more indoor activities are inevitably. On a day like today, when the dust condition is bad, let's check the air inside the multi-use facility.

First, as you approach a food store in the basement of a department store in Seoul, a food court where food preparation is in full swing, the concentration of ultrafine dust rises to 66 micrograms.

This is 30% more than 50 micrograms, which is the standard for maintaining indoor air quality in large stores.

The standard for maintaining large particulate matter is 100 micrograms, which also exceeded 20%.

The inside of the subway train was a little better.

Due to the ventilation system running on the ceiling inside the carriage, the ultrafine dust was between 40 and 50, below the standard.

The problem was the space inside the history.

On platforms and underground arcades within the station, it exceeded the standard by 60 to 70 micrograms.

The Ministry of Environment has requested that in case of severe fine dust, not only outdoor activities but also the time spent in multi-use facilities should be reduced as much as possible.
