Dubai airport will identify travelers by scanning their irises -

Geeko

The United Arab Emirates have opted for retinal recognition coupled with facial recognition within Dubai airport to identify travelers in transit.

In addition to being at the cutting edge of technology, this system is made without contact, which helps to stop the spread of the virus.

Airport employees must not manipulate the boarding, identity cards or smartphones of travelers.

This technology will not only be used to pass security barriers: it can replace the traditional passport since a passenger can check-in on a flight, complete immigration formalities or even board a plane by simply scanning his iris at the boat door.

Faster

Travelers can indeed follow a "smart path" in the airport to board.

This path has smart terminals to identify individuals, check their plane tickets and other flight information.

This allows both contacts to be reduced, but also queues.

The identification process is indeed very fast.

It only takes between 5 and 9 seconds.

To take advantage of this biometric technology, travelers in transit through Dubai Airport simply need to go to Emirati counters to register in the biometric system.

They will then be able to pass the various security barriers by scanning their face or their iris.
