The number of cases reported to the health authorities that an adverse reaction was suspected after being vaccinated with the Corona 19 vaccine in Korea increased by 806 a day yesterday (6 days) to 3,689 cases.

Yesterday's 9 cases were suspected of'anaphylaxis', a severe systemic allergic reaction, and 2 cases were hospitalized in the intensive care unit.

The number of death reports increased by one to eight.

The remaining 794 cases were found to be minor cases such as headache or fever.

As a percentage, it is about 1.17% of the 3,14,656 cumulative inoculations in Korea at 0 o'clock.

By type, the cumulative results so far are 33 suspected cases of anaphylaxis, 5 cases of serious suspicion including convulsions or admission to the intensive care unit, and 8 cases of death.

Suspected cases of anaphylaxis are largely divided into anaphylaxis, anaphylactic shock, and anaphylactic-like reactions.

Of the 33 cases reported so far, one is anaphylactic shock, and 32 cases are anaphylactic-like reactions.

Anaphylaxis-like reaction is a case where symptoms such as shortness of breath and urticaria appear within 2 hours after vaccination. The symptoms are similar to anaphylaxis, but it is not a big problem as symptomatic therapy can improve.

The quarantine authorities are currently investigating suspicious cases of serious adverse reactions such as death, and among the cases so far, the causality of vaccination has not been confirmed.

On this day, the promotion team held a closed meeting of the'Vaccination Damage Investigation Group' consisting of clinicians and forensic experts with extensive experience in vaccination and intensively reviewed the causality between serious adverse reactions and vaccinations including death cases.

On the other hand, by vaccine with adverse reactions reported, 3,671 cases were related to the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine, and 18 cases were related to the Pfizer vaccine.

This appears to be because the number of AstraZeneca vaccinations (cumulative 399,387) is far greater than that of Pfizer vaccinations (5,269).
