WhatsApp will soon require biometric identification -

With a phone that is turned off, in airplane mode, or whose indicators are off, there are many potential reasons why a contact has not seen or even received a message on WhatsApp.

No need to be alarmed if the latter is slow to answer you ... provided that you have not been blocked, quite simply.

In general, on the Facebook application, the sender of a message will see two small gray V's at the bottom right of his message bubble, indicating that the message has been sent and received by the recipient.

The two small V's turn blue as soon as the recipient has viewed the messages.

It should be noted, however, that this clue is not necessarily one for everyone as some users may have disabled read receipt in the app settings, in which case even if they read the message, it will still appear. with two small gray Vs.

Two clues to get to the bottom of it

So how do you know if a contact has blocked you?

Two main elements allow this to be deduced: the message is sent but is no longer received.

A single grayed V therefore appears next to the message, instead of two - but this may be indirectly linked to the disconnection of the network by the recipient of the message.

If he has switched off his smartphone or if he has switched to non-airplane mode, the recipient of the message will only receive it once he reconnects to the network… So don't panic.

The second element is probably the best indicator: when you are blocked, you will no longer see your contact's profile picture.

This will be replaced by a grayed-out visual.

How to tell if someone has blocked you on WhatsApp - Geeko

The profile picture and the received message indicator are the two main clues.

Again, beware of shortcuts ... Some contacts do not display a profile picture.

You will therefore only be able to draw your conclusions once certain that the person with whom you were discussing did indeed have a profile photo before the change ...

Note that if the recipient of the message were to unblock you, his profile picture would reappear, but he would not see the message you sent him when he blocked you ...
