A patient reported being sexually harassed by a doctor while receiving medical treatment at a hospital.

It was not easy to prove it because there was no CCTV in the office, but after two years of investigation by the police and the prosecution, the doctor was handed over to trial.

For more details, reporter Lee Hyun-jung covered it.

In March 2019, a female worker, A, visited an internal medicine hospital in Songpa-gu, Seoul due to a swollen one-way.

A, who felt that he had been sexually harassed by the male director B during the ultrasound treatment, hurried out of the hospital and reported it to the police.

Mr. A stated in a police investigation that "Mr. B touched a part of his body on his knee sitting on a bed in the hospital, hugged him, and put his lips on his forehead."

In fact, Mr. B's saliva was detected on Mr. A's forehead, and Dr. B claimed that it was "obtained during a massage after treatment for acute sinusitis, or sinusitis."

However, the day after the incident, Mr. B apologized by sending a text message to Mr. A, saying, "I was embarrassed and frightened that I might need surgery, making me feel displeased with the actions I was comforting."

In the absence of any witnesses or CCTVs in the office, the police and the prosecutors found that Mr. A's statement was credible after a lie detector investigation, and in January, he indicted Mr. B for forced harassment.

During the investigation for nearly two years, Mr. A received psychiatric care due to an acute stress response.

[Kim Eui-ji / Victim's Attorney: From the perspective of the general public, it is difficult to think that he or she was exposed to sex crimes while being treated by a doctor, and it is practically very (difficult) to prove this and even subject him to criminal punishment.]

Mr. B is still today I was in the middle of a medical examination, but to the reporters asking about the assault, I replied, "I will fight innocence at trial."
