On the morning of the 25th, the police began to forcibly disperse the protesting residents in front of the village hall in Soseong-ri, Chojeon-myeon, Seongju-gun, Gyeongbuk, which is the entrance to the THAAD (high-altitude missile defense system) base.

The police mobilized more than 500 police officers from 10:30 am on the day to forcibly disperse 50 residents demonstrating sit-in on the road in front of the village hall in Soseong-ri.

Residents are demanding the suspension of the construction of the Saad base and withdrawal of construction equipment and materials, and are concerned about a collision by putting themselves in a ladder-shaped structure and confronting the police dissolution measures.

On the 22nd of last month, the Ministry of Defense said that it would improve the living conditions of soldiers in the Saad base, and attempted to bring in additional construction equipment and materials within a month.
