Let’s talk in detail with reporter Jo Yoon-ha in the

studio.

Reporter Jo, the fire has been going on for 8 hours now, so let's clarify the current situation.

<Reporter>

Yesterday (20th) around 3:50 pm, a fire broke out at Nochusan, Gujeol-ri, Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do.

This mountain is a wild mountain, and as soon as it was reported, the forest authorities started to evolve, but unfortunately, there has not been a big fire yet.

The good news is that there have been no casualties yet.

Right after the forest fire, the forest authorities dispatched 11 helicopters, firefighters, and more than 200 people, including the police.

As the day gets dark, all firefighting helicopters that were used to extinguish the fire have been withdrawn, and now special firefighters are focusing on building firewires to prevent the fire from spreading to private homes.

The current extinguishing rate is about 50%, and this fire burned 110,000 square meters of forest.

A little worrisome is that the fire is now spreading to the top of the mountain.

The fire department has announced that it will put in a firefighting helicopter as soon as the day dawns to start fighting.

I am very worried now that there are private houses near

. Why is it so difficult to evolve?

<Reporter> The

reason why a big fire has not been caught is because a very strong wind is blowing on the site.

Because of this, it seems that the fire is constantly spreading due to the strong wind and dryness, and it is said that this is a steep slope where manpower input is very difficult.

So, it is said that they are having more and more difficulties in evolution.

As I said before, the good news is that there is no human injury yet.

Gujeol 1-ri is the closest village to the wildfire, and there are 16 residents of 7 households in this Gujeol 1-ri.

As the fire has not spread to the current private house, we have not evacuated yet, and we are waiting at home.

So, for safety, it is said that around Gujeol 1-ri, 20 firefighters are patrolling the area to check the situation.

If damage is expected, these residents can go to the Gujeol 1-ri Village Hall, and as the fire is still spreading without a large flame, it would be better for those in the vicinity to pay more attention.
