Supreme Court Chief Kim Myung-soo apologized to the members of the judiciary over the controversy over the impeachment proceedings and false clarification of the Busan High Court Chief Judge Im Seong-geun on the 19th.

Supreme Court Chief Kim wrote in an article on the court's internal network today, saying, "There was a case that caused confusion to the people and the court family," and "I deeply apologize for causing great disappointment and concern for my careless response." Said.

This is the second time that Supreme Court Chief Kim apologized for controversy over false explanations.

He was known to reject Judge Lim's resignation in April of last year, citing discussions on impeachment by the politicians, and was criticized for being'watching passports'.

The controversy raised suspicion of false explanations by denying that "I have never made any mention of impeachment"

Supreme Court Chief Kim strongly denied the suspicion of'observing passports', saying, "The decision on whether or not to accept a judge's resignation was a judgment that took into account various circumstances such as related laws and regulations, but there was no political consideration."

"After taking office, the ultimate goal of improving the system is to systematically guarantee good trials by independent judges," he said. "The drastic dropping of the Chief Justice's powers is not to allow the risk to the independence of the trial."

He emphasized, "It is impossible for me to jeopardize the independence of the judiciary through political sympathies or inappropriate political considerations."

Regarding the impeachment proceedings of Deputy Chief Justice Im, he wrote, "As the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, I am sorry for the unfortunate and heavy heart, and I am sorry to the people regardless of the outcome."

The opposition-centered demand for resignation was clearly rejected.

Supreme Court Chief Kim said, “The highest return the judiciary can give to the public is a good trial that an independent judge can reach a just conclusion through fair and faithful hearing.” “The constitution granted for the completion of judicial reform for a good trial without losing the original intention I will fulfill my enemy's mission.”

He then emphasized, "I promise to re-engrave the seriousness of the constitutional obligations given to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and to make more dedicated efforts so that the judiciary can earn the public's trust."
