Last night, around 10:10, a fire from a warehouse in Sacheon-ri, Yangyang-eup, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, spread to nearby hills.
The fire appears to have started in an agricultural machinery warehouse in Sacheon-ri, the fire department said.
The fire department, along with Yangyang Army, put 20 units of equipment such as pump vehicles and about 70 personnel to extinguish the fire.
According to the Yangyang County Office and the fire department, there is no human injury to date.
Currently, a strong wind of 4.5m per second is blowing in Yangyang, and firefighting authorities are struggling with firefighting work.
The fire department has issued step 1 to respond to wildfire and raised it to step 2 at 11:22 pm.
The Dongbu Regional Forest Service in charge of the region issued an order to convene staff and put in a specialized forest fire prevention team at the fire site.
An official at Yangyang-gun Office said that it was instructed nearby residents to evacuate away from the mountain through a disaster message.
