You may soon be able to write your texts in Word entirely with dark mode.

The announcement was made by Microsoft in a blog post relayed by

Wednesday.

So far, this “dark mode” can only be used at the ribbon and toolbar level.

The document remains blank.

But Microsoft is currently testing a feature to extend dark mode to the text box.

“As we spend long hours with our screens, it has become increasingly important to reduce eye strain and adapt to light sensitivity,” says Microsoft.

One-click change mode

To activate dark mode, the user must first go to the “Account” section, then choose “black” mode in “Office Theme”.

In the “Display” section of the ribbon, he can then switch from a white document to a black document using a new button, “Change mode”.

At the moment, this new functionality is being tested.

It is only available on the 2012 version (Build 13518.10000) for Insider Beta members.
