In November of last year, Mr. A, who works as a public health doctor in Sunchang, Jeollabuk-do, examined a four-year-old child with an egg-sized bump next to his eye.

I asked for a close examination on an unusual wound.

However, I heard the mother of the child say through the staff at the entrance to the hospital.

"Dad threw the child," he said.

Mr. A immediately reported to the police, and when he learned of this, the father and the child began threatening.

The police investigation was also hazy, saying, "There are no charges of abuse," and the case was closed.

Responses from specialized child protection agencies were also insufficient.

This child was belatedly designated for management of child abuse cases.

Mr. A suffered from trauma due to the threats of his child's father, and said, "I will look into our society a little sharply and delicately in the medical treatment process so that other abuse victims who may be around him are not buried."

Reporter Jo Yoon-ha tells the story behind the interview.
