In January 1990, a woman who was dating in a car on the banks of the Nakdong River was sexually assaulted and murdered.



About a year after the discovery of the body, the police arrested Dong-ik Jang, 32 years old at the time, and In-cheol Choi, 29, as suspects.



The two who were handed over to trial all claimed innocence, claiming they made false confessions because they could not be beaten by police torture.



However, he was sentenced to life imprisonment, and after 21 years in prison, he was released as a model prisoner in 2013.



Then, a retrial was decided on the occasion of the announcement of the Great Sword Past History Committee that the criminal was manipulated by torture.



The Busan High Court, who was in charge of the retrial, sentenced Jang and Choi today (4th) to the charges of robbery, murder and rape.



It was determined that the police arrest process was illegal without a warrant, and that the police's torture activity was also recognized during the investigation, and the false confession was not capable of evidence.



The judge also apologized to the accused and his family for the court's failure to function as the last bastion of human rights.
