French television channels will soon have to deal with a new competitor.

ViacomCBS Networks International has indeed announced the arrival of a new TV streaming offer in France from February 8.

Forty thematic channels will be offered in the Pluto TV pack, including MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.

Several channels dedicated to cinema, television series, documentaries and children will be on the program.

The contents will be organized by theme.

Unlike a Netflix, Pluto TV will not be an unlimited streaming service but a streaming TV offer, understand by this that the channels will offer content in a linear fashion.

It will therefore not be possible to access the various content according to one's schedule.

No account needed

To access it, all you have to do is launch the dedicated application on your smartphone, tablet, computer or television.

Pluto TV will be available on Android, iOS, Android TV and Apple TV initially.

No need to create an account to access the service: it will be accessible instantly, upon downloading the application.

Pluto TV will be fully funded by advertising.

There will be no paid option or subscription to purchase.

Viacom CBS has not yet specified the recurrence of advertising breaks.

The offer is however available in several other countries already, including the United Kingdom and Germany.

France was the next logical step in the deployment of Pluto TV.

ViacomCBS hopes to launch its service in more markets in the coming months.
