This is the story of the'Child Abuse Report Status Survey' conducted by the Practical Education Teachers' Meeting for 800 teachers of kindergarten, elementary, middle and high schools and special schools from the 7th to the 10th.

Of the teachers surveyed, 40% said they had witnessed suspected cases of child abuse, and 26% said that there has been an actual abuse case at their school.

The most common type of child abuse witnessed was'physical abuse' at 37% (183 persons).

Following'Neglect and Abandonment' 32% (158 people),'Duplicate abuse' 15.4% (76 people),'Emotional abuse' 13% (64 people), and'Sexual abuse' 2.6% (13 people).



The first person to report the suspicion of abuse by Jeong In was also a daycare teacher.

How many teachers have actually reported child abuse?


Sixty percent (466) of teachers said they had hesitated to report child abuse.

The main reason they hesitated to report was'because the child's situation might get worse after reporting' (34%), and many respondents answered'because they were not sure about child abuse' (33%).

14% of respondents answered'due to the threat of the perpetrator's caregiver', 11% of'distrust of the procedure after reporting', and 9% of'because of having a lawsuit after reporting.'



What did the teachers in the field say what they can do to improve the protection of children from abuse?


77% of respondents said'separation from the primary caretaker who committed abuse after reporting'.

In addition,'protection of the reporter's personal information' (70.1%),'protection of the reporter against lawsuits by the perpetrator' (55.8%), and'early detection of families with signs of abuse through strengthening the welfare system' (35.4%) are presented as improvements I did.
