The American computer company Razer, specializing in computers and gaming accessories, is diversifying its range of products with a protective mask.
In parallel with the presentation of its new PCs, gaming chairs and others, the manufacturer has indeed unveiled the Hazel, its anti-Covid mask project, at CES 2021.
The concept imagined by Razer obviously has nothing to do with surgical masks.
Rather, it is a technological object.
The “world's smartest” mask - according to its manufacturer - takes the form of a waterproof, scratch-resistant and transparent recycled plastic shell, so that the wearer's mouth is always visible.

The hull has two vents on each side which gives it a futuristic gas mask feel.
These ventilations filter the air drawn in, but also the CO2 exhaled.
The manufacturer also claims that its mask will be able to filter 95% of airborne particles, including the coronavirus.
Connected object, the mask will warn its wearer when it is necessary to recharge its fans and change the filters via a notification sent from a dedicated application.
Sound and light
So far, Project Hazel does not differ too much from other technological masks that we have seen appear in recent months.
However, Razer's protective mask is special.
It incorporates a microphone and amplifiers to project the voice of its wearer.
This way his voice will not sound muffled.
But the Hazel mask mainly incorporates RGB LED lights, a feature of the brand's products.
Wearers will be able to personalize their mask by choosing the color of the LED lights of the fans.

Razer assures that its Hazel mask meets the N95 standard - the American equivalent of the FFP2 standard - so it is surgical-grade and reusable, although it has not yet received any official approval or certification.
Self-cleaning
The storage / charging case will also take care of disinfecting the mask using UV-C light rays, known for its germicidal properties.
Despite all the technology in it, the manufacturer claims its mask is comfortable to wear.
As for the selling price or availability of the Razer goggle, the manufacturer has yet to comment.
It could also never see the light of day since it is still a concept today, but one thing is certain, it should certainly find a taker.
The concepts of technological protection masks have indeed met with immense success, in particular on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.
