<Anchor> On the

afternoon of the 12th, it was a bit harder than usual on the way home from work as it snowed a lot in the metropolitan area.

We will connect reporters who are on the scene to see what is going on this morning on their way to work.

Reporter Jeon Yeon-nam, did it snow more overnight?

<Reporter>

Yes, I am in Yeouido, Seoul.

Even though it snowed overnight, it is still snowing.

But if you look around me, you can see that there is a lot of snow piled up like this.

And as these snows froze in subzero weather, ice roads were created throughout the roads and sidewalks.

After 3pm yesterday, snow has poured down around the metropolitan area.

In two or three hours, 4.3cm of snow was observed in Seoul, 2.8cm in Incheon, and 12.3cm in Siheung, Gyeonggi-do.

Especially in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, 7.4cm of snow poured over 3 hours.

When the heavy snow advisory was issued, the Seoul Metropolitan Government engaged in emergency snow removal by putting in more than 8,000 manpower and 1,000 equipment.

Nowadays, most of the snow on the roadside has melted, so there is no big obstacle to vehicle traffic, but there are still many places on the back road, so you should be careful about the safety on the way to work.

As you can see behind

, the big roads have been cleared for quite some time, but the inconvenience on the way to work is expected.

How is it?

<Reporter>

Yes, it snowed a little less than last time, but it would be better to take public transportation this morning.

This is because there is a concern about icing in areas that are vulnerable to snow removal, such as slopes and hills, and roads behind them.

In preparation for the congestion on the way to work this morning, Seoul increased the number of subway lines to 36 from 7 am to 9:30 am, and extended the minimum service interval for all city bus lines.

Incheon city also decided to operate an additional temporary subway during rush hour.
