Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae posted a post on his social media and expressed his position on the spread of Corona 19 in the Eastern Detention Center in Seoul.

He said, ``As the Minister of Justice who is in charge of the correction work, I am very sorry for causing concern to the people,'' and said that Corona 19 has revealed a weak point in the legal administration.

This is the first time that Minister Chu has issued a message of apology regarding the spread of corona in correctional facilities such as the Seoul East Detention Center.

Minister Chu visited the site only a month after the first coronavirus confirmed at the Eastern Detention Center, and after Prime Minister Chung Sye-gyun first apologized, the Vice Minister instead of the Minister of Justice apologized and was criticized.

[Yong-gu Lee/Deputy Minister of Justice (Yesterday, Seoul Government Building): I am sorry to the public once again.] At the

Seoul East Detention Center, 14 additional confirmed patients, including 13 detainees and 1 employee, came out.

The number of corona confirmed cases in correctional facilities nationwide increased to 982.

The Ministry of Justice plans to conduct a 5th total investigation tomorrow for employees and prisoners of the Seoul Eastern Detention Center.

In Gwangju Prison, one prisoner who was admitted two days ago was released after being confirmed coronavirus.

This is a measure in response to the decision of the investigative agency to proceed with a disability investigation in consideration of concerns about the spread of the corona.
