Hello everyone?

This year, which started with Corona and ended with Corona, is only a few hours left.

I will start with the news at the last 8 o'clock in 2020, when there was more sigh than laughter and more worry than hope.

On December 31st, it's time to end the year with people and greet the coming new year.

The annual bell ceremony for the New Year's Eve held in Bosingak, Seoul was also canceled after 67 years.

Let’s connect the reporter in front of Bosingak in Seoul.

Reporter Jeon Yeon-nam, it looks like it's colder in front of Bosingak.

<Reporter>

Yes, the Bosingak area, where I am listed, is a bell-belling event held every year on the night of December 31, where more than 100,000 people gather every year.

However, this year, the event was completely canceled in the aftermath of Corona 19, and as you can see behind me, this place is very quiet.

I actually came here two hours ago to see the situation.

It was a little difficult to find citizens visiting this place as the event was canceled and the weather was also cold below -8 degrees Celsius.

Citizens who visited this place with regret also took a picture for a while and hurried to step back.

[Cho Min-kyung/Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi: I couldn't take photos of Bosingak only on my mobile phone because of the corona, but from next year I want to come to the scene and participate, and I am very sorry.]

This year, there is no extended bus or subway service as in the previous year, so if you come to the city center today (31st), it is better to check the last train time in advance.

Isn't it possible to hear the bells ringing at all unless the bell event is held this year?

<Reporter>

Yes, this year is the first year in 67 years since the battering event started.

Instead, the city of Seoul announced that it would conduct the event online.

Instead of actually ringing the bells here at midnight, we are going to release a video of the bells shot in advance in the middle of this month.

It is known that ordinary Seoul citizens including small businessmen participated in the bell.

In order to prevent the spread of Corona 19, sunrise spots across the country are also closed.

In the case of Seoul, 19 sunrise events, including Seonyudo Park, Seonyu Bridge, and Namsan Park, Palgak Square, were canceled, and access was completely canceled.
