The government has completed a contract to purchase 20 million COVID-19 vaccines with Modenana of the United States.



On the 28th, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) chief said that President Moon Jae-in talked with Modena CEO to agree to supply 40 million doses, or 20 million people, of the vaccine, and then signed a contract through follow-up negotiations.



Modena's vaccine will be introduced in the second quarter of next year.



The government explained that it had initially planned to purchase 10 million units of modders or vaccines, but during the negotiation process it doubled the supply and started supplying it from the third quarter to the second quarter.



With the completion of the contract with Modena, the Korean government has secured a vaccine capable of hitting a total of 56 million people.



The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said that it will announce the plan for vaccination against Corona 19 in January next year.
