Recently, while the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology was investigating the marine ecosystem of Dokdo, a seahorse was discovered at a depth of 20m around the hog bream cave in Seodo.

The seahorse is a globally endangered species designated by the International Federation for Conservation of Nature, and this is the first time a seahorse has been discovered on Dokdo in Korea.

The seahorse discovered this time on Dokdo is believed to be a species similar to the crowned seahorse found off the coast of Ulleungdo in August.

The Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology will conduct DNA analysis to determine exactly what species this hippocampus is.

Seahorses are usually said to live in shallow aquatic zones along the coast, but they are very sensitive to environmental changes and are very animals for studying marine ecosystems.

The head of the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology said, "The discovery of the seahorse on Dokdo this time shows Dokdo's ecological value as an oasis of the East Sea marine ecosystem."

Netizens said, "Haemae, how does it feel to live in Dokdo, our beautiful land? Haha." It showed a reaction.
