A fine of 900,000 won was sentenced to Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong, who was handed over to trial for violating the Public Official Election Act by distributing a'free pizza' and selling a set of porridge from a specific company.

On the 24th, the Criminal Division of the Jeju District Court (Presiding Judge Chan-soo Jang) held a sentence of the Governor, who was charged with violating the Public Office Election Act, and sentenced him to a fine of 900,000 won.

On December 12 last year, Governor Won sold a local company's product Yeongyang porridge on his personal YouTube channel, and on January 2 of this year, he visited the Jeju The Greater Tomorrow Center in Yeonbuk-ro, Jeju-si, a support organization for youth employment and start-ups. The original governor can retain the position of the governor once the fine is confirmed.

Earlier, at the third trial on the 24th of last month, the police requested the court to lower the fine of 1 million won in accordance with the Supreme Court's sentencing criteria, claiming that Governor Won violated the provisions for prohibiting donations under Article 113, Paragraph 1 of the Public Official Election Act.

Article 113 (1) of the Public Official Election Act provides that'members of the National Assembly, members of local councils, heads of local governments, representatives of political parties, candidates (including those who wish to become candidates) and their spouses are persons, institutions, organizations, and facilities in the relevant electoral district.
