At the time of the 21st general election, the prosecution requested a fine of 1.5 million won, which is equivalent to invalidating the election, to Rep. Cho Soo-jin, 48, who was handed over to the trial for reporting a reduction of his assets.

If the electorate is sentenced to a jail sentence or a fine of 1 million won or more for violating the Public Office Election Act and the sentence is confirmed, the election will be cancelled.

The prosecution said in a decision trial held today (23rd) at the hearing of the 11th Division of the Seoul Western District Law Criminal Agreement (Deputy Judge Moon Byung-chan), "The defendant seems to have been aware of the existence of the bonds, including continuously receiving interest on the missing bonds of 500 million won "I asked the court like this.

The prosecution said, "Looking at the nature and size of the missing cash assets, it is reasonable to assume that the incentives to omit are sufficient, and it is reasonable to assume that the assets were falsely disclosed for the purpose of winning.

In response, Congressman Cho claimed innocence on the ground that it was unintentional.

Rep. Cho said, "The property that the defendant stated in the property holding status statement is 2.23 billion won and the actual property is 2.6 billion won, the difference is about 370 million won." "From the perspective of the elector, the property of the proportional representative candidate is 2.2 billion won. When it is 30 million won or 2.6 billion won, it cannot be said that other perceptions about property are formed.”

"It happened because I didn't know how to write the property holding status form properly," he explained. "I didn't know that 500 million won was the subject of the report."

In addition, he explained that underreporting, missing spouse financial assets, and son's deposits were all due to misunderstandings and mistakes.

In a final statement on the day, Rep. Cho stole tears, saying, "Today is my child's birthday, and I came to the court as a defendant," and "I am very embarrassed to many people."

He said, "When I look back on myself, I have lived sincerely and honestly," he said. "It happened while preparing for the nomination so urgently that the current work is more difficult and painful, but this is the opportunity to look back on myself with a more humble and low attitude. I will have."

Representative Cho's sentence will be held on the 27th of the following month.
