Recently, as a large number of corona19 confirmed cases occurred on the east coast of Gangwon-do, a public petition was filed asking for the permission not to come to see the sunrise.

One petitioner posted on the Cheongwadae public petition bulletin board saying,'Please stop KTX to Gangneung at sunrise', "All KTX to Gangneung from Seoul on January 1st are sold out, and people on the east coast, which are famous for sunrise, such as Jeongdongjin and Pohang, Gangneung "This is going to be crowded," he said. "Compared to the metropolitan area, if one or two people are infected with the virus, it is more contagious because it is a narrow neighborhood."

He said, "In the East Sea, which was called a clean area, there were more than 70 confirmed cases in a day, which were 2-3 people due to a group infection," he said. "Is it right to come to see the sun on the east coast that lacks containment facilities in such an emergency?"

He then appealed, "If KTX cannot be prevented, step 3 must be implemented, and our economy is also an all-stop. Please do not allow us to come to see the sunrise on the east coast. I lost my job due to corona. I do not want to lose my place of living."

There was also a request to stop the sunrise event on the east coast.

In addition, on social media, opinions are being posted to send at home while following personal quarantine rules.

In an article posted on SNS, a citizen of Donghae City said, "All KTX trains departing Seoul on December 31st are sold out except at 7am" and said, "Donghae citizens, please see the sunrise on the rooftop of the new year or just stay at home." .

Local governments such as Donghae and Gangneung, where sunrise spots are located, are facing difficulties due to epidemiological investigations due to the recent outbreak of corona 19 confirmed cases, and they are in a position to worry about infection from tourists at sunrise.

In Donghae City, due to the shortage of hospital rooms due to a rapidly increasing number of confirmed cases, tourist facilities are converted to life treatment facilities, and drive-through tests are being conducted for all citizens.

Gangneung City is considering campaigns to demand social distancing from the beach on New Year's morning, but it is not enough to deal with the sunrise tourists who are waiting in a car or at a lodging facility, and are struggling with countermeasures.
