Disciplinary Committee of the Ministry of Justice, which will determine the fate of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, reopened today (15th).

For more information on whether the meeting is still ongoing, we will connect with reporters on site.

Reporter Joon-Woo Bae, the first meeting last week took quite a while, but is it getting longer today?

<Reporter>

Yes, it is.

The 2nd meeting of the Prosecutors' Disciplinary Committee of the Ministry of Justice against Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol is currently running for over 9 hours.

A while ago, the procedure for the witness interrogation with Supreme Prosecutors' Officer Han Dong-soo was completed.

Previously, eight witnesses were adopted, but Seoul Central District Prosecutor General Lee Seong-yoon and Gwangju District Prosecutor General Jeong Jin-woong were not present.

The examination of witnesses was canceled for the director of the Ministry of Justice Shim Jae-cheol, which was adopted by the disciplinary committee ex officio.

Since the witness interrogation process is over, all that remains is the final statement of Mr. Yun's special counsel and the procedure for disciplinary committee members to meet separately to determine whether to take disciplinary action and to determine the level of the disciplinary action.

Then, it seems that the scheduled procedure is almost finished. Then, is the result coming out within today?

<Reporter>

Yes, it looks like there is a high possibility that results will come out within today.

However, the disciplinary committee is also showing extreme prudence in that it is the first ever disciplinary action against the incumbent prosecutor general.

Earlier, the official representative of the Disciplinary Committee Chairman Jeong Han-jung repeatedly emphasized that he will try not to lose fairness.

[Jeong Han-jung/Prosecutor and disciplinary chairperson of the Ministry of Justice Acting as representative: The minister is responsible for proving the alleged disciplinary action.

I will judge by looking at whether the alleged facts are elucidated by the evidence.]

Right now, there is a final pleading on the part of President Yoon, and the policy is to approach the disciplinary committee as carefully as possible, as the procedure remains in history.
