According to information from Europe 1, eight suspects are presented on Monday to the magistrates of the specialized interregional jurisdiction (JIRS) of Paris with a view to their indictment, after four days in police custody. 

650,000 euros in cash, three firearms or even luxury goods 

Arrested last Thursday after nine months of investigation, these men are suspected of being involved in a vast network of importation of cannabis resin from Morocco, via Spain.

During the crackdown led by the judicial police branch of Evry, more than a ton of drugs had been seized in a farmhouse serving as a storage place in Seine-et-Marne.

The police also got their hands on nearly 650,000 euros in cash and three firearms, including a submachine gun.

New large-capacity cars as well as luxury products (leather goods, watches, etc.) were confiscated from suspected traffickers.

According to investigators, this traffic fed part of the Paris region at the rate of one to two tonnes of cannabis resin delivered each month.

The profits reaped by the suspects could reach 3 to 5 million euros per year, estimate the police officers.

The man suspected of being at the head of this network has already been sentenced for identical facts.

Another protagonist has just been released from prison, also awaiting trial for drug trafficking.
