An Apple Lightning / USB-C cable for the iPad Pro.

There are no small savings in Apple's eyes.

After marketing its iPhone 12 without a charger, the American giant could also remove the USB-C to Lightning charging cable from its boxes, reports

PhonAndroid

.

The charging cable is the only bulky accessory still supplied with iPhones.

Apple is seeking to reduce the size of its boxes by limiting accessories, in order to save on transport and thus reduce its carbon footprint.

A survey on accessories

The removal of the cable has not yet taken place, but it seems that the Cupertino company is trying to understand if it is useful to consumers.

According to

9To5Mac

relayed by

, Apple sent a questionnaire to its customers to find out which accessories are the most used among those still provided.

Customers can choose from the Apple logo sticker, the puller for the SIM card tray, and the Lightning cable.

Depending on the result of the survey, Apple could therefore remove the charging cable from its boxes for the future iPhone 13. The company had carried out a similar survey before removing the charger from the boxes of the iPhone 12.
