Korea Railroad (KORAIL) is releasing'window seats' for all KTX, Saemaeul, Mugunghwa, ITX-Youth, etc.passenger train tickets for 3 weeks from the 8th to the 28th in accordance with the upgrade of 2.5 steps in social distancing in the metropolitan area.
This is a measure at the level of 3 steps of social distancing, and the Korean Railroad decided to strengthen distancing within the train by preemptively accepting the recommendation of the government and the quarantine authorities to restrict reservations within 50% of train tickets.
To avoid confusion for customers who purchased tickets in advance, some inner seats of trains already sold before the 22nd can be used as they are, and only window seats for trains running after the 23rd are sold.
The seats already reserved can be changed to the window depending on the situation on the site by requesting the crew.
KTX passenger seats used by four people facing each other cannot be purchased in bundles, and only one of the four seats is sold.
Korea Railroad President Son Byeong-seok said, "For the prevention of Corona 19, public safety is prioritized over profits," and said, "We will be able to use the railroad with peace of mind through thorough quarantine and strengthening distance within trains."
