A new feature is appearing in a beta version of Google Maps and it concerns Google Street View.

Google should soon allow users to offer their own panoramas, reports

.

This will allow the service to be more efficient.

These are users who have unveiled, on Reddit, this new function.

They previewed in the side menu, the Driving Mode submenu.

The latter allows the use of the camera to carry out a panoramic sequence of the surrounding places.

Users therefore have the option of taking the images from their location to post them.

This would allow Google to fill in the gaps in Google Street View.

In some places, such as small alleys or inaccessible streets, the application sometimes lacks visuals.

An internally tested function

It is likely that Google will have the final say on the submission of images in order to control the quality and veracity of the images.

But the American giant did not let any comments filter.

The functionality is, for the moment, tested internally.

If this test phase is successful, we could soon see the function appear on Google Maps.

This could be an alternative to the Street View “trekker”.

This backpack topped with about fifteen cameras, notably made it possible to record images of the alleys of Venice.
