An aide to the Democratic Party's representative Lee Nak-yeon, who was being investigated by the prosecution in connection with the suspicion that he had been paid for the rental of a multi-function device from Optimus, was found dead.

The police searched a building near the Seoul Central District Office Building in Seocho-gu, Seoul at around 9:15 pm today (3rd), and found that Mr. Lee, a close friend of the representative, was dead.

Mr. Lee attended the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office yesterday and was investigated by 6:30 p.m. in the presence of a lawyer, and the investigation was scheduled to resume after dinner, but the last name was hidden.

The police, who received the report of disappearance, are known to have identified Mr. Lee's location through cell phone location tracking.

The police are trying to figure out exactly how Lee died.

Mr. Lee served as a special political affairs assistant when Lee was governor of Jeonnam Province.

Earlier last month, the Seoul Election Commission accused Lee and two others of violating the Political Fund Act in connection with a suspicion that Lee received support for rent for a multifunction device in the Jongno election office from Trustall, an Optimus-related company in February to May.
