The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency announced today (18) that 23 people, including Mr. A, were arrested for violating the Narcotics Control Act and 30 people, including domestic sales agents and drug users, were arrested.

Five people, including Gyeongnam gang leader B and activists, who are fleeing abroad, have been red wanted for Interpol.

According to the police, Mr. A and others have been in Vietnam and Cambodia 16 times from January last year to September this year, in Vietnam and Cambodia. It is suspected of smuggling 5 billion won worth of market value, including 59 tablets, into Korea.

Mr. A, who runs a company that purchased used mobile phones and exported them to Southeast Asia, and Mr. B, who was active in Vietnam and Cambodia, conspired to smuggle drugs purchased locally into the country.

Police reported that they aimed to increase the unit price of synthetic drugs or methamphetamine as the global black trade became difficult due to the spread of Corona 19 around the world.

The police investigation revealed that Mr. A and others passed airport procedures by putting methamphetamine in a bag of locally bought candy and repacking it, or putting it in the groin and putting on two or three layers of underwear to prevent spillage.

In addition, it paid 9 million won to deliver drugs from Southeast Asia to Korea, and imported methamphetamine into Korea by international mail.

After obtaining the intelligence, the police cooperated with customs to arrest an gangster who was smuggling drugs at Incheon International Airport, confiscated 1 kg of meth, and expanded the investigation to arrest the rest of the party.

1kg of methamphetamine is the amount that 30,000 people can administer at the same time.

The drugs they smuggled in were sold to drug offenders by courier through a domestic sales plan, and the police reported that they were mainly administered in clubs and pubs.

A police official said, "We are continuing investigations, such as arranging US arresters, such as the head of a domestic gangster fleeing overseas, to Interpol and invalidating their passports."
