MacBook Air: new shortcuts appear on the keyboard -

In addition to making a cross on a fan and therefore being quieter, the new MacBook Air equipped with its house M1 chip welcomes a change in its keyboard.

The Magic Keyboard has indeed new functions.

The main one is the FN key which now displays a globe, as on virtual keyboards, and allows you to change the language of the corrector, but above all to display emojis.

A new example that shows that macOS is getting ever closer to iOS.

Redesigned ergonomics

Apart from that, the first line of buttons offers three functionalities which are: Spotlight, Siri and Do Not Disturb.

The first was already available on previous models, but you had to press the cmd + spacebar key to use it.

Remember that Spotlight allows you to search your files or directly on the Web.

Users will now be able to call them by directly pressing the dedicated key.

The Siri key obviously allows you to call on Apple's virtual assistant.

As for Do Not Disturb, pressing this key mutes all notifications from your MacBook Air.

Handy during work sessions or when watching a movie.

These three keys replace those in the applications menu and those that used to increase and decrease the backlighting of the keyboard.

The new MacBook Air is available for pre-order, as are the new MacBook Pro and Mac mini, and will hit the market starting November 17.
