MeowTalk promises its users to translate their cat's meows.

The program still under development relates more exactly the sound emitted by the cat to one of the ten interpretations proposed.

Among these, we find "Give me to eat", "I have pain" or "I want to go out", indicates GeekWire, who spoke with the creator of the application.

The latter says he used machine learning, data science and voice analysis to develop it.

The latter is available for smartphones running iOS or Android.

In addition to universal "translations" applicable to all chats, MeowTalk offers customization.

"To be closer to [his] cat"

This feature allows the owners of a feline to tell the software what their animal really wants, based on their meows.

The algorithm then uses this new information to refine its interpretation.

Cats do not indeed share a universal language.

Each individual creates his own vocabulary which he uses systematically.

The developer has been working on the app since Akvelon gave him permission to focus on this project four months ago.

Javier Sanchez, who worked at Amazon for a year and a half, describes the app as a “mini-version of Alexa” that had to be “successfully made to work”.

The engineer believes that the health measures to fight against the coronavirus make his platform even more important.

“A tool like this can help people get even closer to their cats, especially if they can't meet other humans on a regular basis,” he says.

So it can really be a game-changer ”.

Akvelon is also working on the development of a connected collar for cats.

Eventually, the smart object could instantly translate a meow thanks to MeowTalk or send an SMS to the master of a cat wanting to return home.
