Starting tomorrow (13th), if you are caught without wearing a mask at public transportation, medical institutions, pharmacies, and other multi-use facilities, you will have to pay a fine.

According to the Central Defense Countermeasure Headquarters (Bang Daebon), according to the revision of the'Infectious Disease Prevention Act', a fine may be imposed for violating an order to comply with the quarantine guidelines such as wearing a mask from tomorrow.

This is due to the end of the one-month period.

The facilities and places where masks must be worn in the current'social distancing' stage are 23 types of priority/general management facilities, public transportation, assembly/demonstration centers, medical institutions/pharmacies, nursing facilities, day and night protection facilities, and religious facilities.

In high-risk workplaces such as call centers, distribution and distribution centers, indoor sports stadiums, and meetings and events with more than 500 people, you must wear a mask.

Masks use products that have been approved as'quasi-drugs' by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, such as health masks (KF94, KF80, etc.), droplet blocking (KF-AD), surgical masks, etc. that have been proven to block droplets (saliva) and safety. Is good.

If you do not have a quasi-drug approved mask, you can wear a cloth mask, cotton mask, or disposable mask that can completely cover your mouth and nose, but mesh masks and valve masks are not accepted.

Covering your face with clothes such as a scarf is not recognized as wearing a mask and may result in a fine.

Even if you wear a mask, if your mouth or nose is not completely covered, such as'Tuxk' or'Cosque', you may be considered as not wearing a mask and fined.

Regardless of the number of times, the violating party will be fined up to 100,000 won.

Facility managers and operators who are detected for failing to properly guide users with the quarantine guidelines, such as the duty to wear a mask, may also be deemed to have failed to comply with the administrative obligations according to the administrative order, and may be subject to a fine of not more than 3 million won.

In the case of the first violation, the maximum is 1.5 million won, and in the case of the second or more violation, the maximum is 3 million won.

An official in charge of Bang Dae-bon explained, "If a public official in charge of a local government detects a violation in the course of guidance or inspection, instruct the violating party to wear a mask properly first, and in case of non-compliance, the grounds for the crackdown will be explained and a fine will be imposed." .

In some cases, you are not subject to fines.

First of all, according to the'Order Violation Act' which regulates the imposition and collection of fines for negligence, those under the age of 14 are not subject to fines.

In addition, people who have difficulty wearing or taking off a mask on their own without assistance from the surrounding area, and those who have difficulty breathing when wearing a mask because of a common underlying disease (a chronic disease) may also be excluded from the penalty.

Eating or drinking, being in the water or in a bath, appearing on broadcasts, performing personal hygiene activities, and verifying your identity are recognized as'exceptional situations' where you must take off your mask.

In addition, the groom, bride, and parents of the wedding are not required to wear masks at the ceremony.

Dae-bon Bang said, "It is good to accurately check the administrative order issued by the competent local government, as it is possible to add facilities and places subject to administrative orders and those subject to fines for each local government in consideration of the Corona 19 situation."
