The National Assembly Legislative Judiciary Committee visited the Supreme Prosecutors' Office on the afternoon of the 9th to pay special expenses for the Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutors' Office and to verify execution documents.

Today, the verification of special expenses for the judiciary was conducted when Justice Minister Chu Mi-ae raised a suspicion that he was "using special expenses like pocket money," aiming at Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol at the entire judiciary committee meeting of the National Assembly on the 5th.

The Democratic Party members of the Judiciary Committee plan to focus on the use of special expenses by President Yoon.

Democratic Party Rep. Kim Yong-min met with reporters before verification and said, "Several suspicions have been raised that the Great Sword has used the special function expenses without proof." .

In particular, he stressed, "It is necessary to thoroughly verify that special expenses are not abused as political funds of the prosecutor general."

Rep. Paik Hye-ryeon of the same party also said, "Because special expenses are used without a receipt, only the National Assembly can verify them."

In response, members of the People's Strength decided to focus on whether Minister Chu's use of special expenses was legal.

Rep. Jeon Ju-hye, the power of the people, said, "The special expenses are money used for investigations, but the Ministry of Justice does not investigate," he said. "I will focus on whether the use of special expenses for the Ministry of Justice is legal."

Rep. Jang Je-won of the same party said, "The Ministry of Justice should also look into whether it is the minister's spending money," and "At this opportunity, we should also look into the Blue House's special performance expenses, which is the largest authority."

The special expenses that the judiciary commissioned to verify is money used for collecting information that requires confidentiality, investigating cases, and performing similar government activities.

It is unclear to what extent the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Swordsman will disclose the details today, as there is a concern that investigation techniques, etc., will be exposed if the details of use are disclosed to the outside.

On the other hand, it is known that Yoon has instructed the working-level team to "thoroughly verify internally and without hiding it, and then cooperate actively within the limits permitted by the law" ahead of today's verification.
