The arrest warrant for Son Jung-woo, the operator of'Welcome to Video', a website that deals with child sexual exploitation, has been dismissed.



Won Jeong-sook, the deputy chief judge of the Seoul Central District Court, dismissed the arrest warrant, saying, "The suspect generally admits the main accused, and there is no fear of destroying the evidence as basic evidence is collected."



Deputy Judge Won added, "It is difficult to say that the suspect was investigated in the state of being disabled and that there is a concern about escape because he attended the interrogation process."



In May, Son's father directly sued and accused Son of violating the Crime Profit Concealment Regulation Act, forgery of private documents, and forgery documents to prevent the repatriation of his son to the United States, which is more severe than Korea for sexual crimes against children. .



The Cyber ​​Investigation Division of the National Police Agency in charge of this case applied for a warrant for arrest on the 6th by applying charges such as violation of the Crime Profit Concealment Control Act.



Son ran a child sexual exploitation website'Welcome to Video' on the Dark Web, which can only be accessed using a special browser, and was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison at the second trial last year for allegedly trading child pornography. Has been confirmed.



He was scheduled to be released due to the expiration of his sentence in April this year, but his release was postponed as the US Department of Justice demanded the repatriation of Mr. Son under the extradition treaty.



However, the Seoul High Court was released in July this year, refusing to extradite criminals, saying,'If repatriated to the United States could interfere with the investigation on'Welcome to Video' ongoing in Korea.
