YouTube ruled that a video announcing Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election was in compliance with its rules.

The images, published this Wednesday, are therefore still online although the result has not been officially announced.

The controversial clip, over three minutes long, is titled “Trump Won.

The mainstream media are hoping you won't see it ”.

According to YouTube, the video complies with the content policy.

On the other hand, it violates the regulation on advertising.

The images of One American news Network (OANN) have therefore been demonetized, reports

Twitter and Facebook much tougher

A YouTube spokesperson clarified that the content likely to be deleted is that "intended to deceive voters about the places, times and criteria required to vote".

Videos relaying "lies likely to materially discourage voters" may also be targeted.

Officials, however, have disabled ads on the controversial video.

YouTube's promotional policy prohibits the monetization of certain types of content.

By doing so, YouTube sets itself apart from other social networks.

Twitter and Facebook have indeed multiplied the devices to fight against disinformation around the American presidential election.
