The prosecution has initiated a full-scale investigation into the case involving Kim Gun-hee, the wife of the Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office said that the case of allegations of sponsorship money for the exhibition of a company operated by Kim Gun-hee and the alleged involvement in stock price manipulation were allocated to the second part of the anti-corruption investigation.
Earlier, during the exhibition, Mr. Kim was charged with the prosecution for suspicion that he received money in the name of sponsorship money from a company that was subject to investigation during the exhibition, and for intervening in a suspected stock price manipulation related to Deutsche Motors.
Last month, Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae invoked the authority to command the investigation and instructed General Yoon not to intervene in the investigation.
