More than 6,000 primary care workers who oppose the transfer of care work to local governments are on strike today (6th).

The National Federation of Non-Regular School Workers Conference held a press conference yesterday at the KCTU and announced that a general strike will be held for primary care workers to abolish part-time work for care workers and to legislate educational public service.

Amid the widespread overtime work caused by the coronavirus, the School Fee Solidarity argued that the all-day care law was initiated, in which only local governments control school care, leading to uneasy hiring and treatment of caregivers.

He also said that it is necessary to legalize full-day care, but it is unacceptable to entrust private transfers with local governments.

The School Fee Solidarity said that more than half of the 12,000 nationwide caring staff will participate in the strike.
