Last September, the first trial was held today (5th) on a man in his 50s who killed a child by drunk driving in broad daylight in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.

The bereaved family members who attended the trial demanded severe punishment, saying they could not forgive the perpetrator.



The offender A is accused of drunk driving a car in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul at around 3:30 pm on September 6, hitting a motorcycle and a street lamp on the sidewalk, knocking down a street lamp, killing a 6-year-old child nearby.

As a result of the investigation, A's blood alcohol concentration at the time was 0.144%, which was the level of revoked license.

The prosecution applied the Yoon Chang-ho Act to prosecute Mr. A, but the survivors are demanding severe punishment, saying that there should be no commutation in the trial process.
