Democratic Party lawmaker Jeong Jeong-soon, who is accused of violating the Political Fund Act and the Personal Information Protection Act, was arrested.

The Cheongju District Court issued an arrest warrant for Congressman Jeong, saying there was a fear of destroying evidence at around 0:30 am today (3rd).

It is accused of committing fiscal fraud in the last 4·15 general elections and receiving illegal political funds from camp officials such as the Cheongju City Council.

In addition, there are charges of illegally acquiring personal information of 30,000 members of the Cheongju Volunteer Center and using it for elections.

Earlier, after an arrest warrant was issued, Chung voluntarily attended the prosecution on the 31st of last month.

At the time, Congressman Chung said that he was not refusing to attend and said he would be faithfully investigated.

[Jeong Jeong-soon / Deputy Democratic Party member (last month 31st): The position that he will always attend the prosecution has not changed.

I was going to attend regardless of the National Assembly, and I will work sincerely in that respect.]

Afterwards, the prosecution conducted a intensive investigation by calling the account manager who first raised allegations of injustice related to Chung and conducting a confrontational newspaper.

However, as Chung denied most of the charges surrounding him, the prosecution has already requested a warrant for arrest based on considerable data and testimony.

Assemblyman Chung, who has already been charged with violating the election law, and is about to have his first trial on the 18th, was put to trial while being detained under an arrest warrant.
