Jeong Jeong-soon (equivalent to Cheongju) of the Democratic Party, whose arrest warrant was issued with the consent of the National Assembly, voluntarily appeared at the prosecution today (31st).
Rep. Jeong, who came to the Cheongju District Prosecutor's Office at around 11 am, said, "I am sorry for causing concern to the people, the citizens of Cheongju, and the voters."
In addition, he said, "I have never said that I would not attend the prosecution," and said, "The desire to live as a clean politician remains unchanged."
The prosecution believes that Jung committed accounting fraud in the 4·15 general election and received illegal political funds from the Cheongju City Council.
It is expected that the prosecution will focus on the allegations of corruption by Chung based on the testimony and evidence.
