Three men, aged 21 to 27, were arrested in the night from Saturday to Sunday in the Loire after having jostled and knocked down to the ground a police officer who was monitoring compliance with the curfew.

The incident occurred on Saturday around 11:30 p.m. during the control, by two police officers from a canine brigade, of a group of seven alcoholic people who violated the curfew in the center of this town in the Gier valley.

Three of them jostled and knocked one of the police officers down to the ground, before hitting him with fists and kicks and fleeing, the same source said.

Known to the police, the three men - including two brothers - were arrested an hour later in possession of a glove stolen from the assaulted police officer.

They were placed in police custody at the Saint-Chamond (Loire) police station.

The injured police officer, who suffers from bruises to his face and an injury to his hand, was prescribed an eight-day total absence from work (ITT) and a 15-day work stoppage.
