A major login failure at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) on Tuesday means that students cannot take their exams.

The university reports this on its website.

The malfunction occurs in the Canvas, Testvision and Zoom programs.

A number of other services have also been affected by the outage, according to the UvA.

Testvision is used by the university to take exams, but because students cannot log in, they are canceled on Tuesday.

Students will be notified.

It is not known what caused the failure.

Research is being done on this.

"We are working hard to resolve this disruption as soon as possible," the university writes.

Various systems were available again around 1.30 pm.

"However, the cause of the login problems has not yet been found. Therefore, we cannot assume that the problem has now been resolved."

A spokesman for the UvA was not immediately available for comment on Tuesday afternoon.
