An official from the Ministry of Education said on the 16th, "Among the professors who were punished for the illegal use of corporate cards in the general audit of Korea University, Ambassador Jang Ha-seong is included."



Ambassador Jang retired from retirement after serving as a professor in the Department of Business Administration at Korea University from 1990 to last year.



From 2017 to 2018, he was appointed as the head of the Blue House Policy Office.



According to the Korea University Comprehensive Audit released by the Ministry of Education last month, 13 professors of Korea University must spend 1 to 86 times per person at an entertainment establishment in Gangnam, Seoul disguised as a Western restaurant from March 2016 to December 2019. It turns out that a total of 6693 million won was paid for the Hal corporate card.



The Ministry of Education notified Korea University to give severe disciplinary action to 12 and a warning to one.



In the case of Ambassador Chang, he was subject to severe disciplinary action, but at the time of disposition, he was retired at the time of retirement, so he was informed that he should handle it'no matter what' (no disciplinary action) according to the usual procedure.



It has not been confirmed whether Ambassador Chang actually entered the entertainment establishment or only lent a corporate card.



The Ministry of Education added that it is difficult to confirm the amount of use of Ambassador Chang's corporate card.



Korea University resigned under the moral responsibility of the head of the Planning and Budget Office and the General Affairs Officer, who oversees the audit measures, when the general audit of the Ministry of Education revealed that some professors were mischievous, such as spending on corporate cards at entertainment establishments.
