On the 18th and 25th, the police announced the ban on the assembly in connection with the report of a 1,000-person outdoor worship service by the August 15th Citizen Emergency Response Committee (non-capital) near Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul.

According to the police on the 15th, the Seoul Jongno Police Department said it had delivered a notice of the ban the night before to the organizers.

This is a measure based on the Seoul Metropolitan Government's judgment that there is a risk of spreading infectious diseases.

Prior to this, the B-Captain reported to the police that they would worship with 1,000 chairs in a 400m section including the north side of the Sejong Center for the Arts in Jongno-gu and three lanes.

On the 13th, Secretary General Choi In-sik said, "If administrative dispositions come down (such as banning assemblies), we will do everything we can legally."

Although the social distancing was adjusted to the first stage and the standard for banning assembly in Seoul was changed from '10 or more' to '100 or more', the city-city banned area for each local government is being maintained.
