Friday.

The American Wesley Barnes had posted several reviews about the Sea View Resort on Tripadvisor.

In it he accused the resort of "modern slavery".

The company sued the American expat for damaging the hotel's reputation.

He is also said to have argued with the staff about the payment of corkage for the alcohol that was brought to the hotel.

Barnes was arrested by the immigration police.

Not much later he was released on bail.

He did face a two-year prison sentence.

Ultimately, the resort and Barnes made an agreement.

So the American had to apologize.

He has also informed various media that he has proclaimed "falsehoods" to harm Sea View.

"I wrote the reviews out of anger."
